TLDR:The early internet needed avant-garde programmers and businesses to develop new products to make the Internet useful and to be rewarded for the value they created. No one knows in advance what the consequences of their construction will be.Cryptonetworks, with their open-source protocols and everyone-owned networks, offers the opportunity to restructure the Internet into a system that benefits more people around the world. This is a vision worth striving for.The world evolving today is increasingly controlled by technology, so we must design systems that benefit the collective. The transformation of the Internet, from Web 2.0 to Web 3.0, is diverse and will change the way we interact with the Internet.

General Conclusion
In early 2021, we had discussions on the idea of building a decentralised Internet, commonly referred to as Web 3.0.

These are important and understandable issues and need to be actively discussed.Small businesses and startups rely on Facebook advertising services, Google search suggestions, and Amazon's AWS service to survive. Artists and creators face the risk of having their information deleted from sites like Spotify, Instagram and Tiktok. Although these are not new problems, it is becoming more and more serious. The development of technology monopolies and their scalability to information privacy rights and personal freedoms has spurred the Internet transition from Web 2.0 to Web 3.0
What Is Web 3.0?
Web 3.0 (commonly called Web3) is a reform model aimed at democratising the Internet. Web 3.0 is present in the Crypto Space and other digital fields such as AI, Virtual and Augmented Reality, and more. By applying new technologies, Web 3.0 is changing how we, as a collective, view and value the Internet. Web 3.0 is about creating an Internet that works for everyone, owned by everyone.
Where Web 3.0 Comes From
The term was originally coined in 2014 and popularised in 2018 by Ethereum co-founder and Polkadot founder Gavin Wood. The spirit of this term goes back to when Satoshi developed Bitcoin and advocated decentralised DNS called BitDNS.
“I think it would be possible for BitDNS to be a completely separate network and separate blockchain, yet share CPU power with Bitcoin.” - Satoshi (2010)
DNS has long been controlled by organisations such as Verisign and the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) overseen by the US Department of Commerce. This centralised control of DNS has been used to enforce IP rights, prohibit websites from selling copyrighted material, censor free-of-speech sites like WikiLeaks and seize domain names (IP addresses) without proper procedures, etc. Censorship decisions are usually influenced by the top levels of government and the lobbyists of the largest multinational organisations, who may not always be acting in the best interests of the general public.Satoshi and other Bitcoin enthusiasts recognised this. In 2011, a fork of Bitcoin called Namecoin was born to allow censorship-proof domains at .bit domain addresses.Namecoin was ahead of its time. A proxy service or extension (such as MetaMask today) was required to log in at the .bit domain, making it very difficult to use. Plus, most people did not want their own website or personal domain at that time. All of this caused Namecoin to fail because of low demand from its users.Ten years later and now new blockchains and decentralised services may be ready for success. These applications are making the Internet more decentralised with Web 3.0. Another example of such infrastructure is the Handshake network.

2021.11.29 21:30 tumaabomination Signing I love you and such

So every morning I (20F) stop at a coffee shop on campus and there's always one girl in a specific booth reading a book. One day I approach and tried to strike up a convo, well turns out she's deaf. Since then we've continued to wave at eachother and say good morning, ya know small stuff.
Well I've started to realize that I've caught feelings for her, but don't know how to approach/tell her, I've started to learn ASL, but aren't very good yet. I do know the sign for 'I love you' and it was the first one I learned, I really want to use it with her, but how exactly should I approach this?
I'll also note that I do know that she us attracted to girls, so I'm fine with that part of it.

2021.11.29 21:30 Silver-Bee-3942 Taysom Hill vs Cam RoS?

Hill is available in my league, wondering if I should drop Cam to pick him up. (Russell Wilson is currently my QB1. 🤮) I know they’re very similar, but with McCaffrey being out, I feel like Hill offers a higher floor, but maybe a lower ceiling? Fighting for a playoff spot. Thoughts?

2021.11.29 21:30 901_Rants Fun With Math - How Vaccines Were Produced So Fast

3 Billion people got 2 Covid vaccine doses (the former "fully vaccinated" status).
That is 6 Billion doses.
If all 4 vaccine manufacturers (Pfizer, Moderna, J&J, AstraZeneca) were able to run 24/7, each making ONE dose per second...
There are 86,400 seconds in a day. Multiply that by 365 days. There are 31,536,000 seconds in a year of 365 days to give us 31,536,000 doses X 4 vaccine manufacturers
= 126,144,000 doses produced in ONE year.
So to get to ONE BILLION doses would require ONE BILLION seconds.
1,000,000,000 Seconds = 31 Yrs, 8 Mos, 2 Wks, 1 Day, 13 Hrs, 19 Min & 59 Secs
Divided by 4 vaccine manufacturers each producing one dose per second = 7 years.
20 Years = 630,720,000 Seconds
...it would take over 7 years to produce just ONE Billion doses.
3 Billion people got 2 Covid vaccine doses (the former "fully vaccinated" status).
That is 6 Billion doses.
So...where is it all coming from? The only viable answer is that it must have been produced and stockpiled in advance of the pandemic.
HOW DID THEY KNOW?

2021.11.29 21:30 Boko_Harambe_69 Trying to decide between an Electribe, a Circuit, or an Elektron Model

I'm looking for a groove box (probably with sampling capabilities) on the lower end of the price scale. Digitakt/Digitone are probably more money than I really want to be spending. I've narrowed my options down to the above three (and probably will go for the sampler version of whichever one I decide on). Anybody have any strong opinions on why I should go for one over the others?
Or does anyone have any other recommendations? Should I be looking at vintage boxes like the MC-505?

2021.11.29 21:30 bergamotandvetiver76 Cabin Retrospective, July 2021: Trapezoid ceiling and new windows

Shortly after my last departure my friend the Mad Scientist and her partner borrowed her sister's truck and transported out four windows that were recently replaced on my house. This was much appreciated as they would not fit in my regular passenger car. They arrived at my cabin on the summer solstice and soon the Mad Scientist embarked on a period of solitude in the woods. After acclimating to camp life she picked up the insulation baffle and ceiling insulation work where I left off. After some time away and some transportation difficulties I got back by mid-July and we spent a couple weeks really accelerating the Trapezoid improvements. We finished off the ceiling, including an attic access hatch and drywall, and reframed the west side for the four new windows and got them installed. A gallery of sixty-three photos follows.

I have been posting these retrospectives almost live since summer 2017, and with a recently completed set of eight covering the previous history I now have a complete set from the beginning in 2010 all the way to the present. In chronological order they are:
